The megajoule (MJ) is also equal to 1015 nanojoules (nJ), or 1012 microjoules (μJ), or 109 millijoules (mJ), or 1,000 kilojoules (kJ), or 0.001 gigajoules (GJ) or 10-6 terajoules (TJ).

One megajoule is equal to one million joules. The joule is the energy consumed or work done when a force of one newton acts to move an object through a distance of one meter or the energy required to produce one watt of power for one second.
